Dome Hives

Ventilation bars Ventilation dome on the top of the hive Ventilation dome closed Hive entrance cone open Replacing the dome

Air is sucked into the hive through the entrance at the base.

The ventilation screens on the end bars provide an exit for the humid air from the bee colony.

The lid has ventilation holes underneath the threaded top dome to draw the air upwards.

The ventilation dome is attached by a wooden screw thread enabling it to be spun open allowing the humid air to be drawn outwards.

When the ventilation dome is closed the air flow through the hive is reduced - useful for those colder winter months.
